English Heritage's Okehampton Castle:-Okehampton Castle, a motte and bailey castle, is the largest castle in Devon and dates from the late 11th century having Norman origins and is mentioned in the Domesday Book (completed in 1086 AD). Many strange reported occurrences at the castle including a visitor who photographed a strange ghostly shape at a window at the top of the keep and also numerous sightings of a ghostly black dog.

The National Trust has many attractions in the area including:-

Walking:- Choose from one of Divine Dartmoor Walks to make the most of your time with us as well as the famous Two Castle Trail.
Golf:- Enjoy a game of golf at our local Okehampton Golf Club.
Cyclin:- On the Grantie Way part of the National Cycle Network route 27 (bike hire available from Devon Cycle Hire).
Horse Riding:- you will be spoilt for choice from just enjoying a hack to having a lesson at one of the local riding centres

SW Lakes Trust with Roadford Lake Country Park and Meldon just a short drive away where you can enjoy walking, angling, watersports, picnicking and just relaxing.

Dartmoor National Park

Is one of the largest areas of upland semi-natural habitat in southern Britain. The north moor is a wonderfully wild and unspoilt expanse of upland woodland, tors and bog lands broken up with its granite outcrops such as Yes Tor and High Willhays visible from Galford Springs. Through ensuring the quality of the food, produce and customer service the restaurant is very nearly always buzzing and full with happy customers and the farm shop is bursting with home grown and home reared produce with freshness a key factor. The 200 acre farm is devoted to the shop and the core activities continue to stock the shop and provide ingredients for the restaurant just as it did over 20 years ago.
