Galford Springs is perfectly situated to enjoy all that Devon and Cornwall have to offer, being just on the border. The North and South coasts have hundreds of sandy coves and rugged clifftop walks. Dartmoor National Park lies just a few miles away, while the spectacular high country of Exmoor is easily accessible. Galford Springs is surrounded by a multitude of quaint villages which beg exploration and will reward you with a tasty lunch in the local pub. Local walks meander through nearby woods and along babbling streams.

Golf

There are 3 golf courses nearby at Ashbury, Okehampton and Moretonhampstead all of which are an easy drive.

Fishing

We have a beautiful river running through the farm where you can fish for trout at no extra charge.

Coarse fishing lakes include: Alder, Anglers Paradise,  Hidden Valley, Legge, South Reed and  Spire’s. River fishing can be enjoyed on the Tamar, Tavyn, Taw and & Torridge.

Sea fishing can be arranged at Teignmouth, Plymouth, Looe and Bideford. You can expect to catch mackerel, conger, shark amongst others.

Cycling

Just a few miles north in Bridestowe you can enjoy many cycle tracks. You can take your own bike or hire locally. National route 27 passes through Bridstowe village. Mountain biking is available in the woods.

Of course there are miles of deserted local roads just around the corner to explore on a quiet summer afternoon by bike or on foot.

Water Sports

At Roadford Lake and Meldon Lake (both just 10 minutes away) you can sail, waterski, windsurf and canoe, either on your own or under instruction. They are also a great place just to relax and watch the fun.

Walking

The peace and beauty of Dartmoor is envigorating no matter what the time of year. Over 60 square miles of varied moorland is to be explored, including granite tors, heather covered hillside and quaint pubs and cafe's along the way.
